Lovely little Mexican cafe near downtown Hammond. I stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed their homemade chips and salsa along with the veggie burrito. The burrito was grilled just right! They are near my new office so I definitely plan on being back.
Bonus: they have a breakfast menu that is available all day. Next time...

The food was amazing!! We got the wings Estilo GDL and lemon pepper really good. The quesabirrias really recommend really juicy with your consume. The waitress Alondra had a good customer service and really nice.

We recently discovered this hidden gem, and it has quickly become our go-to spot for authentic Mexican food. I don't think it's been open for too long, but it's already serving up some of the best quesabirrias and tacos de canasta I've ever had.
The quesabirrias are perfectly crispy on the outside, loaded with tender, flavorful birria, and come with a rich consommé that takes them to the next level. The tacos de canasta are just as impressive--soft, packed with flavor, and exactly what you want for a quick, satisfying bite.
I've been coming here every Sunday for the past month, and I've lost count of how many times I've stopped by during the week. If you're looking for a great deal, they have $1 tacos de canasta on Wednesdays, which makes it even harder to stay away.
The service is friendly, the food is consistently great, and the prices are more than fair. Oh and you can grab a michelada while you're at it!

The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and efficient. We had no issues with seating, and our orders were taken promptly without feeling rushed. The food? Absolutely amazing! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their dishes.
On top of the great food and service, the prices were very reasonable, making the entire experience even better. We couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable dining experience. If you’re looking for a place that values its customers and serves fantastic food, Casa De Luz is the place to go! We’ll definitely be back!
